contacts!

I have contact lenses now! I got them last Thursday, and I'm getting better at putting them in and getting them out. There is still lots of room for improvement. My new icon is from my second day with them ( Read more... )

Contacts are glorious things. I'm getting my eyes checked this week and will probably fork over the dough for some contacts. It's so cold in Winnipeg now that having contacts would make life soooo much easier. It was minus 45 with the windchill yesterday....and having your glasses fog up every time you breathe out because you need to have a scarf over your face...contacts are definitely good things.

all the best from the west...well more mid-central, but it rhymed.

Blush. I am looking forward to the non-foggyness of winter. Minus 45!!! It shouldn't be allowed. I hope you get & enjoy contacts, too!

hope the cold has ceased ... from the east (lame, but slant rhyme!)

mosquito_larva is right... I don't know how people cope out here with glasses. I hate wearing mine in the winter.

Manipulating them will definitely get easier with time. My favourite thing about contacts is being able to see while swimming! (Of course, you're not *supposed* to wear them in the water, but I just clean them well afterwards.)

I was wondering about swimming. I was worried I might lose one. I suppose that's less of a concern with monthly disposable contacts. Hmmm. It would be really nice to be able to see while swimming.

I don't know if you got disposibles or not, but you can always keep an old pair around for swimming, then if you loose one it will be no big deal. NB, getting water under a contact lens hurts. If you're going to swim with them on, keep your head above water.
