SukhothaiOn our last full day in Sukhothai we caught a local bus out to the old city which is about 20 minutes out of town. It's a really nice area, set in the middle of a large park with manicured lawns and lots of little lakes and ponds are the ruins from the old town. Well guys, this is what your trip is all about ! Seeing the real side of Thailand, not just what they want the tourists to see. As hard and uncomfortable as it must have been travelling (and sleeping from the sound of it!) you must really feel inspired by all of what you are being exposed too. I think you efforts for the school are absolutely fantastic, even though the kids are on holidays. Let me know the details of the school, i intend to send them a donation, but i need to know how - Aussie Dollars, Baht? American dollars, Cheque (yeah, like that would work LOL) just let me know-from your description these kids could really use a hand !

PS Guess that the trip to Fraser was a luxury limo ride compared to how you guys are travelling now!!! LOL See. i was just preparing you for the hard stuff. Be safe and mum and i are thinking of you, especially with all that is going on in the world at the moment.

Hey Nikki and Luke ... if you you continue writing like that, I will only be able to read your journal once a month .... it's just too exhausting!!!! Barry has a good point tho ... about the road travel ... Fraser Island was a good preparation and who knew that land travel could get worse!! I can't even comprehend what the school must be like. People trying so hard to do good under such difficult conditions and with such limits on resources and help. You do what you can but remember that you have 10 months to go and, knowing you, a whole lot more people to help so don't try to be 'SUPERNIKKI' and wear out your powers in one place ( ... )
