always low standards of living, always

I have a conflict of conscious. Basically I work for an evil corporation. A certain big-box retailer, not Wal-Mart mind you, but one that has definitely adopted specific parts of their business platform. hope you don't mind my two cents... r64half October 26 2007, 08:46:28 UTC
The thing you need to understand is that national economies are simply clients to corporations in the free market system. The corporations exist without borders or allegiances to national economies. They thrive on debasing people's standards of living abroad. The Chinese government is strengthening their own economy by allowing corporations to ignore human rights laws in their borders thus providing the blood-sucking corps with the cheap labor they can't find in the United States. Our government is not concerned about our quality of life, because quite frankly, they are so saturated with the cash-flow of big business they are actually making a huge profit off of out-sourced labor. They actually understand the problem, and its not necessarily a problem to them. So yes our country is being destroyed economically, but you need to understand that our government is so corrupt it is actually aiding in the process. You can thank the bastards who unleashed laissez faire economics on the world ( ... )

Thanks for the input, man. I actually know that "fighting terrorism" is just an excuse for the middle eastern, nation-building, oil grab. If we really cared about ending terrorism we'd withdraw from the military bases we established in Saudi Arabia before the Gulf War.

I guess I never really considered how complacent our government is with it's own impending economic destruction, that's something awful beyond words.
