At my apartment. But~ I'll be at the carousel.

[Contrary to popular belief, Roxas is actually not a stalker and has no idea where people other than Sora live. Thus, a little while later, a portal opens up beside the carousel. Dressed in the usual Organization coat and hooded, Roxas steps out, head tilting to search the crowd for Kaoru.]

[Kaoru, unfortunately, does not have super awesome portal skills. So, unlike some people, he walks like a normal person. He's holding a rather large package in his hands, the wrapping fruity and sparkly and to his tastes.

And there's the carousel, bright and turning and looming.]

Oiii!

[He waves the package around obnxiously, just in case Roxas doesn't notice him.]

[If Roxas hadn't noticed Kaoru before, it would be impossible to avoid him now. But he isn't, and so he turns willingly, striding towards the - fruity beacon. Fruity meaning the present, that is, not the person holding it.]

Hey.

[A marked improvement on his social skills! Now he gives greetings and everything.]

[Kaoru returns the greeting by slinging an arm around Roxas' shoulders. Or, he does the best he can... what with the severe height difference.]

Roxas, hey! Merry Christmas!

[What is it with oversized redheads and their inability to figure out personal space? Roxas tolerates it, because as weird as this is, it's still miles off from waking up to find someone leaning over him to watch him sleep. Not that he'd thought that was weird either, at the time.]

People have been saying that a lot lately. Is that another tradition?

You say it when it's December 25th- today. C'mon, Roxas, doesn't your world have Christmas, too?

[He shoves the package to Roxas' chest, makes small gestures for him to take it. C'mon, c'mon, c'mon.]

I think every world has Christmas. But--

[--but those are Sora's memories, set at a distance, and though Roxas retrieves them for reference when he wants to understand something, they don't really belong to him. It's a borrowed structure to frame his thoughts, and he's been trying to use it less because the memories mean more when they're his own.

His train of thought breaks off as Kaoru shoves the package at him. Startled, Roxas grabs hold automatically, then looks down.

It's really bright. And heavy. And... unfamiliar. He stares down at it, his expression unreadable because there's nothing there to read. This isn't a situation he's ever had to deal with.]

Should I open it now?

Yeah, you open it now.

[He holds back a laugh. Roxas is such a strange, strange person, almost like a little kid but not quite. He pulls away to get the full effect- it isn't often that Kaoru gets to give gifts, really.]

Just throw the paper away afterward or something.

Do people keep it sometimes?

[It wouldn't have occurred to him to keep the paper in the first place - the point's to hide the present, after all, and once you know what the present is, what do you need with the wrapping?

Whatever. He's tearing and letting the paper fall to the ground in obliviousness - shameless litterbug! - as he holds out a jacket. A really nice jacket. Not that Roxas knows anything about jackets.

This kind of hides his face from Kaoru's view, but hey.]
