I went to the bookfair yesterday, my yearly pilgrimage. I was hoping I could find some stylebooks and theory books, but damn, those things were expensive. Unluckily for me, I got mugged the other day so my budget for books was slashed by half. (Next time, daydream less during train rides and damn you, thieves!) Anyhow, since I don't plan on eating ( Read more... )

Sorry you got mugged-not nice :o(

The first two books you got are great (I haven't read the third!). I was reading The Stars My Destination in work once, and this lovely old woman asked me whether it was an astrology book!

Captain Obvious says, "Mugging is a bummer!"
Just curious, though -- which station did the culprits get off at?

And on a lighter note... Is Me & Mr. Darcy the one structured like a Choose Your Own Adventure book? That one looked waaay fun, based on premise alone, though I doubt I'd get all the references. (But then again, I get excited about just about *everything* that attempts to collapse distincitons between 'pop' and 'classics' or 'high' culture -- and especially using a format that was so dear to me, as a kid.)

I'm curious what you think of it.

It happened at shaw blvd. They took my pencil case (!), which had calling cards from sources, P2500 worth of prepaid Smart cards, letters from friends, toothbrush, toothpaste, a flashdrive, and some money for the bookfair. (It's a big pencil case.) Oh and my atm and credit cards. Ugh. I dont mind the lost contacts and the prepaid cards, but the bookfair money! I was so looking forward to the bookfair. Well, it's finished, it's over, karma'll get them.

Me and Mr. Darcy's fun, but I don't like the plotting. I'll explain it in a lengthier post soon.
