You could, adding the .headerimage div to your code: .headerimage {margin: auto; width: the pixels of your image px; height: the pixels of your image px; background-image: url(image url);} But it won't look good due to the dark grey strip.
As for the userpic placement, it's easy. Find .userpic, .userpicfriends and change float:left for float:right.
