Right? Though I don't plan on creating any new journals here, that made me mad. It seems like they just don't *want* new users, if they're going to force ads down everyone's throats unless they plan on paying.

I don't think I'm "grandfathered" as much as I am "crazy aunted" in, but yeah, I had skeptical thoughts towards that, too. If you saw my entry from the 11th, you'll have seen my thoughts on that...

That, and I'm sick of all the holier-tan-thou attitudes of paid users - "Suck it up, why do you think you're entitled, pay then speak your piece". Those people make me FURIOUS!!! >_O;;;;

...anyway...yeah...I hear you...

Speaking as somebody who used to be a paid member, the holier than thou's can just bite me. ♥

Right? And speaking as someone who'd bought a paid account for me? :P

That burns me up, too...sure, it might not cost a bunch to get a paid account, but who wants just two months' worth of more icons? I know I couldn't justify a paid account a lot, back when I was in school...and now that LJ's undergone so many wacky changes, I'm sure that I can't justify anymore now.

Gah...my point was, the holier than thou's don't take into account that some people might have the same theory that I mentioned. Or that some people get piad time as a gift (or from a prize in a fanfic contest, what have you). It's not as easy as "Pay, then complain". In fact, that doesn't even make sense. ¬_¬

I dunno. Why should you have to pay to express yourself, anyway...?
