I'm still here~ just a busy, tired momma these days!

Lately I've written dozens of journal entries in my head, but rarely do I make the time to actually come on here and complete an entire post. The biggest reason is that it seems Facebook has simply trumped my journal. Most people I know/keep in contact with are on there, and it just seems so much more instantaniously fun and interactive than LJ ( Read more... )

Most people just aren't used to hearing a baby cry, and therefore have a low tolerance for it. Ariana does have a particularly loud and shrill cry (as has been pointed out to us MANY times), but it did make me slightly defensive for my lil' Bug. The looks of "what's wrong with that child?" I hate when people call babies "good" because they are mellow, thereby labeling not-so-mellow babies "bad" by default. I looked back at my summer of 2007 journal and we also did a roadtrip and family reunion (different side of the family) when Rylan was 3+ months old, and he also was not the happiest camper. I think babies this age get overwhelmed with such a number of people and a huge change in environment and routine. My bad for bringing my babies out at such a young age, but we couldn't miss out on the opportunity for the family gatherings either, so it had to be done ( ... )

Aside: omfg the Bjorn! I will pay you by loan of my carriers for you to stop using the Bjorn. Not only because it sucks, but also because it sucks (and is shown to cause spinal and hip damage to small babies due to the crotch-hanging design).

lol... such passion! I have a borrowed Moby, but she hates it, and despite multiple attempts I CANNOT seem to wrap the fabric in a way that keeps her content. I have a sling, but she hates it (no longer content to lie down and I can't work it to have her adequuately supported sitting up). I have the Ergo, but she's too big for infant insert and not quite big enough to be in it without, but she also doesn't like facing into me-- she wants to see out. So I'm left with the Bjorn for now. It's very easy to get her in and out, and she's almost always content facing outwards in it (but not facing inwards). Alternate suggestions?

All this being said, she's been a pretty fussy baby these past 3 months, but is just starting to become more chill these days, so I may be able to give the Moby another go with the forward-facing option. I'll have to look up how-to videos because I'm a terrible baby-wearing wrapper!

You're just coming out of the "period of purple crying", so her entire life is libel to change!

Well, I'm glad you updated here. I'm terrible at facebook, and only manage to log in once a week or so. The number of updates is overwhelming (I'm easily overwhelmed, I think!).

I love the pictures!

Thank you! I like all the updates on FB-- mindless entertainment (kind of like reality TV) to scroll through while I'm nursing the babe. But there is something far more authentic about LJ, so I'm going to stick around here too :)
