Think about it...

More than 36,000 students from throughout Los Angeles County, California skipped classes and marched through streets and on various freeways Monday, March 27, 2006, to protest an immigration bill being debated in Congress. "We may be illegal immigrants, but we are human," Metropolitan High School senior Melania Preciado said as she waved a Mexican ( Read more... )

You exagerate a lot. What the US has actually accomodated has been because illegals are a valuable work force. There are some things I don't agree with in terms of behavior and health care, but I wouldn't say certain despicable things can be attributed to all or most illegals. Frankly, these workers take many jobs Americans wouldn't do and for a price no American would accept. Fine by me. Liberals would argue they're being under-paid, but that's too fucking bad. They can accept the price they're worth to the private sector or go back home. As long as they're valuable to the economy I have no qualms with their presence.

Yeah, I didn't write this, I guess I should have mentioned that. I just found it and thought it'd be interesting to see what people said. And I totally agree with you on the fact that they take jobs most American would never do and accept ridiculous wages. The part that mainly bothers me is when they come over here and expect the same treatment as someone who spent years trying to gain citizenship (like the guy that lives next door to me down here - he was born in South Africa - he became a citizen only a week before school started); and also when they come and say nothing but disprespectful things about America. It's like, hey, no one ASKED you to come here, you came here of your own free will. If you want to pick oranges for the rest of your life - sweet, just stop whining about your lack of benefits, rights, etc. when you're doing it illegally.

yeah...true.
I have no problem with love for your country...
I mean Fidlin & them all love Haiti...but they ARE American Citizens.
It just bugs me that the Mexicans think it needs to revolve around them...they came here, they snuck in...they need to deal with it. And stop saying it's about Mexican Pride, because that is NOT helping thier cause.

Actually, they drag down the economy keeping minimum wages low in Arizona... Among other things.

"they should not be allowed the right to vote"
Um... they're not. I don't have a problem with the ballot being bilinqual, though. We have many citizens who have Spanish as their first language. Not a problem. Plus, many work hard to learn English to they can have successful careers. Big whup if Spanish shows up in more places than it used to. Worst that can happen is the nations population learns more Spanish (which it has been doing, as Taco Bell can attest to after putting it in their commercials). It doesn't harm me in any way.

You're never going to find a Mexican flags replacing American flags. That's what I hate about so many arguments agaist illegals. People think they're going to change everything our country stand for, when they're really not. They're being indoctrinated into our system, our economic way of life. This I don't have a problem with, because this eventually translates into a more productive society.

South Park fan? Hope you never meet creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker. They're libertarian. You might rip their heads off. :-Þ
