May pulled the covers from over her head and looked around through squinted eyes. What time was it? She didn't have a clock or windows to see how light or dark it was. Salene put the bowl of stew on a tray with a spoon and a napkin and carried it carefully down the stairs. The gate was still down? She'd have to raise it when she got back upstairs. Salene smiled at her, looking at her worriedly. She pulled a chair over slowly to the bed and sat the tray down on a night stand. "Here you go, I brought you some stew, all warmed up, it'll help you get better. I'm going to make another small pot for lunch for you, we'll just keep you pumped full of fluids," Salene smiled and sat down in the chair, "How are you feeling today? I brought you another cold remedy, do you think you can sit up and take it and then eat?"

May grimaced at the mention of the cold remedy and then gestured towards her throat with a weak shrug. The stew did smell good and she hadn't eaten in almost 24 hours. She reached for the bowl hoping she wouldn't spill it. She was so glad Salene was home and wished she could tell her that.
