May/Dax in May's room

continued from Here"Compliments still come a little too easily to your lips." She murmurred before wrapping her arms around his neck, allowing him to pull her nearer, her heart beginning to race. She thought of the orange nighty hidden behind the screen and it made her laugh inside. She wondered if he would like it. "Think you can hold that ( Read more... )

Dax stared at her lips, the way she whispered words, narrowing his eyes down, licking his own lips as he continued to stare at hers, worth the wait? He wanted her so bad right now, and he leaned his head down, kissing her neck, "No, I really can't," he mumbled heatedly into her flesh, sucking on the skin there, moving up to her cheek, across to her lips, then down to her chin, kissing down the otherside of her neck, she smelled so good. "I want you May, how can I wait when you smile at me like that?" he asked as he pulled back, staring her in the eye, a soft smile on his lips, "You're too good for me May," he whispered, pressing his lips softly against hers again, his hand coming up to cup her face, his fingers in the hair at the base of her skull. He wasn't worried about the compliments coming too easily, everything he said he meant, he felt, and she deserved to hear it, all of it, all of the time. He wanted to tell her beautiful things, to make her feel beautiful, to make her feel the way she made him feel. It was all so intense, ( ... )

She shook her head at him with a quiet laugh. "No. But I really think we should wait." She kissed him lightly before slipping from his embrace. "MallRats don't always remember to knock. And they'll be starting dinner soon. If anyone thinks to come and find one of us..." She let the thought hang in the air as she began to put her makeup away.

Dax gave a quick frustrated frown when she escaped, the reason she gave him confused him, did she care about people seeing them together then? He shook his head, what a stupid thought, did he care? Not really, but whatever May wanted he'd give her. "Ahhh," he responded simply, backing up and standing there watching her, not knowing what to do. Should he leave? Should he stay? He could go patrol, he wasn't going to attend dinner tonight anyway, he honestly wanted to avoid Trudy and Ryan and maybe a few of the other Mallrats for a while, he didn't need to eat at their tables with them, he could eat whatever was left over after everything was cleaned up, he could take care of himself. Besides, he was the hired help, not a Mallrat, he couldn't expect to be welcome always everywhere, and that was alright. Dax took a moment to glance around the room, he hadn't taken the time to do that when he'd come in earlier.

May twisted her head to watch him out of the corner of her eyes as she finished putting her things away. She wasn't sure she liked the look on his face. The hint of hesitation was back. She was very unhappy in fact. She didn't like that the fight had upset him that much, what was it about this previous tribe of his? She frowned fiercely, then sighed. It was useless. He was the way he was, take it or leave it. He'd drive her mad before long. She sighed again and turned to face him. "Dax. I'm going to say this once, because sometimes I think we're not even on the same wave length. I'm not worried about being seen with you, but right now I don't want any of the kiddies coming in on us while we're..." She reached up to lay her palm against his cheek. "Distracted." She stood on tip toes to kiss him lightly. "Surprised I knew what you were thinking? It's all over your face, Dax."

"Yes, we should wait." She said softly leaning her head against his chest, closing her eyes as they slowly danced together. She let out a soft sigh wondering what was wrong with her. Why was she letting her guard down so easily to him? Why was she defending him so passionately? Because she had been in his shoes once? Someone who had joined the Chosen to survive only to be persecuted for it later even after what she had risked to help bring them down? Was it simply because she had slept with him and enjoyed it? Was it his company? He seemed so naive and mixed up. How in the world had he survived on the streets let alone in the Vultures? He infuriated her, confused her...even made her laugh. She needed time to think about it all. Later? Now? She sighed again. Perhaps later. Acting on instinct and not regretting her decisions was how she had once lived her life. Yet life had changed, and it had changed her. She stopped and looked up at him with a small smile. "Am I keeping you from anything important?"

Dax leaned his head down, close to her hair as she rested against his chest, closing his eyes and getting lost in the music, in the moment, holding her so close made him happy. Happy wasn't a feeling he'd had a whole lot in his past, not since his parents had died, little moments here and there, but now it came a lot more frequently, and usually with May. What had he done to attract her, to deserve her attention, her affection, those kisses and smiles? Dax had no idea, it was a whirlwind of moments, of emotions, he didn't know what he had done right, but he hoped he continued to do the right things, or that she'd tell him when he was wrong. He kind of smiled at the thought of her bossing him around, it was true, even back that day at the compound, in the midst of the chaos of the rescue, she'd told him to hurry up, and he'd thought, Who is this woman? but he hadn't had time to think about it too much at the time. She'd reminded him the other day, and now he smirked. When she'd pushed him into the wall of Pride's room, demanding ( ... )

Dax pulled back as he heard shouting, looking at May with a confused look before he realized it was Siva and what she was saying. "I ah, better go see what's going on beautiful," he said, shaking his head to pull himself out of his daze, where had the time gone? He ran his hand over her hair quickly and pressed a kiss to her forehead before letting her go and walking off, right past the curtain of her room. He stopped short, when he spotted what he thought was Luke, but he didn't have time to dwell on that. If he was still here when Dax got back, however, they would be having words, harsh words. What was the missing Chosen doing in the Mall? Dax knew he too had once been traitor Luke, but the Guardian had been sure Luke would return to the Chosen one day, and if that was true, Dax wanted to know what he was doing in this Mall. But, for now, he rushed out of the Mall following Siva.
