I think you'll still be able to be friends but it won't be the same as when you were younger. You're both at the dating ages, and since your not dating each other, the extra time goes elsewhere. It happens with two female friends too. Spend time with him when you can, but you'll always be the one he goes to when he has relationship problems or just to hang out. Be there, but don't argue with him about it.

People change, but most of the time, it can be delt with. Your friend is probably just going through a phase or something. Maybe, he just wants to be alone for a bit? I've been known to push everyone away for alone time. Even though, I'm alone most of my day. Really, just stick by and hope that he figures out what's going on.

Eh, I've always had issues with best friends. My first best friend died of AIDs. And like.. I still haven't gotten over it and it's been several years since it happend. Another friend (although, we weren't as close) died from mixing drugs. So.. sometimes you just can't get your best friend back. Plus, several of my friends moved and I haven't talked to them since. x.x
