What do you mean by "what sort of magic"?

It seems that magic varies greatly from world to world. Is it a magic everyone can use, or is it limited to a few, or is it just something that keeps everything functioning? Rituals, or words, or just a wave of the hands?

There are many types and systems of magic, each of which has its own rules and requirements. All, however, require the user to have some sort of innate aptitude or power.

So, it requires a natural born talent?

[a small laugh] That's a pretty broad question. There's a lot of world to cover.

I'd love to hear about all of it.

That's what I mean. I couldn't tell all of it, because there's more than I can even begin to know.

But if you can settle for just my city, I can share some of that, at least.

[Unguarded and unlocked the post may be, but Robert still filters, out of the paranoid habit that he's obtained thanks to the Shredder being here. Overly paranoid, actually. It's not like the Shredder would care about this completely meaningless conversation...]

...

My w-world is... utterly devoid of the p-paranormal.

As far as I am aware, it is one of... very few, here.

[ a tilt of his head. ]

Any religions?

Very few; they are... h-heavily derived from pre-Terran precursors, and... the m-majority of the population does not follow them.

... Why do you ask...? [It seems like a question that doesn't follow from the first one.]

Often religion and magic are intrinsically linked. If religion has been phased out then the knowledge of magic has been forgotten with it.

Hey, how's your face?

[There is a hint of grim mirth in her voice. Just a bit. She might love you and be pained by you being evil and also want to kill you in a grim determination and all, but your face burning was pretty hilarious to watch]

Have you been keeping busy? [ i am bored and this cave set up may keep me safe from you, but it makes taking anything inside impossible. ]

Magic is rather prevalent, but without knowledge of the magic of other worlds, I cannot class it particularly well.

I seem to be in the same situation.

You are a magic user yourself?

Something of the sort. [ well. ] Our magic is prevalent, but not entirely functional... most conventional means of access have been lost with time.
