Oh my god, that's pretty freaky!! You sound like you're handling everything pretty well, though, at least..? I hope you can stay pregnant a while longer, and glad to hear you're in good care. I'm really glad your baby's doing well too. Hang in there, that must suck to be in such an unexpected and crazy situation. Feel free to post more conversational type things here if you need us to chat with you to help keep you entertained. :) And best wishes!!
I am so, so sorry to hear this! I'm glad you're getting the care you need.
I'd say there *is* moderate pre-e. Some people can sustain a level like this for some time, while some go into severe organ failure/badly spiked bp. Hopefully the time flies by and you get to cook for a good long while yet!
I am very grateful that my Dr sees it the same way. He could easily make the case for me being severe if he required my pressures be read while I was sitting straight up because they do go up pretty high, but we're both fine with me reclining and laying on my side for readings. The whole plan is to get me to at least 35 weeks. I can do anything for 16 days!
I have been away from LJ for a while, so I didn't even know you were pregnant again - congrats!! Dr Dwight delivered my son Owen, and I really liked him as a doctor! But if you're stuck in one of those tiny antenatatal ward rooms staring at the clock on the wall, I totally feel for you! I will be sending positive energy your way. :)
I am convinced that this clock has an extra second between 11 and 12! But it's the sign about hospital discharge times that makes me extra crazy. My husband is going to bring me some pictures and toddler artwork to cover it all up.
Were you in here for a while before Owen was born? And Dr. Dwight really seems to get around, I mention his name and everyone tells me that he delivered their baby!
I vaguely remember something about the discharge times sign...
Yes, my water broke at 30 weeks and I stayed until I went into labor. The plan was for me to stay til 36 weeks, but I only ended up staying like 5 days. I went into labor and had an awesome natural birth thanks to Dr Dwight. Owen did stay in the NICU for about 5 weeks, which sucked, but he has been perfectly healthy since.
Yes, I meet people all the time who've had Dr D. He is super sweet and came to Owen's 1st birthday party :)
I hope it's ok that I came on by after reading a comment you left in pregnant. I'm not in the hospital, but I am on modified bed rest at home trying to get this baby as far along as I can. (26 weeks 5 days right now.) I'm really sorry that the birth you wanted was taken away, but I am so glad that you and your medical team were able to catch any issues and get you and baby taken care of. Good luck, and I hope that you get to meet your healthy, happy bundle soon, but not a moment before it's "ok". :D
