why is it good? why is it bad?

All comments are greatly appreciated. I know a lot of people have strong opinions on certain issues like this one but dont feel the time and energy in voicing those opinions is necessary. I am frequently one of these people, still, I would love to hear your arguments right now.

Bad idea. It lets people in who dont deserve to be in less than others just because of a stereotype. If kids in the "inner city" are just as smart, then their grades will reflect that. If they say the environment in whihc they grow up is a factor then maybe they ought to try to change the environment first. All affirmative action does in my opinion is piss middle class white people off who deserve to get the job or get into the school more than the minority.

Opinions will probably vary depending upon race. Us in the majority may see it taking jobs, and thus food, from our mouths. But others may see it as the only chance to earn an opportunity in an unfair world.

As a minority myself, I should be like yay affirmative action. But, since I have a brain, i say NAY.

I'm all about merit, not ethnicity.
I worked my butt off in school and got good grades/SAT scores/etc., and THAT is why I am in college. NOT because I'm Mexican, or come from a single parent household, or cause I'm poor.
