Yes, it was done without consulting me, but we both have the right to do so.
I don't really think this was about censorship, it was about anger and generalizations.

If you would agree to keep the vitriol down and relate your personal experiences as just that - personal experiences, I'll be happy to talk with Zionchild about unbanning.
I wasn't being vitriolic, and it didn't appear that the person I was talking with thought so either because the conversation continued just fine and ended positively.
What I was discussing in the rest of the thread was very much on-topic, as the comic that day was criticizing some of the tendencies of religion. Zionchild repeatedly misinterpreted what I was saying and using his misinterpretation to attempt to skew the discourse and discredit me, and it's pretty clear to me that he did the same thing here.
I'm wary of communities where instead of freezing threads that are concerning a ban-hammer is pulled right away, and where mods deliberately and repeatedly misinterpret what a user is saying. I'm not interested in coming back. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a vigilante thing going on if you guys are co-maintainers of the community.
I enjoyed my time in the community and made several friends from the community, but clearly a parting of ways is necessary.
