My thoughts are mixed on this one. IMO, a large part of the rise in Autism rates is really just the increased ability to diagnose it. Add to that the expansion of related syndromes that are now placed under the umbrella of "autism", and it explains a majority of the rise in autism rates. Now, as for Thimerosal... we know mercury can cause brain damage. It seems pretty simple to say - using it in infant/toddler vaccines is probably a bad idea ( ... )

This information and problem can be quoted from a surprisingly large number of sources so I don't know that RK Jr's overall political agenda has to do with it ( ... )

He recommended that Thimerosal be discontinued and complained that the US Food and Drug Administration, which has a notoriously close relationship with the pharmaceutical industry, could not be counted on to take appropriate action as its European counterparts had.
