Post event stream of consciousness

Jun 12, 2006 12:00

Well, I am not as tired or frazzled as I thought I would be after the weekend. By the time I ate, drove through hellish construction traffic, backed in the trailer and unpacked the bare minimum necessary it was already 11:15. After a shower I got to bed a bit before 12:00. Strangely I woke at 7:15 before my alarm feeling refreshed. I suspect it is ( Read more... )

Crap, I don't have his address? Okay, maybe a get well email.

I don't care if the world has it by me posting in a public LJ.
PO Box 371

I bet Monique would be thrilled to hear from you. If you want to send to her email it's moniquedpierce at earthlink dot net.

I will contribute by sending my powerful psychic energies to Monique to make her better.

Thanks. We all know the power of those. :-) I'll bet you even maneuvered the hideous weather this weekend to break up as the PCs finished off the last of Merekial's plans for a glorious breaking sunrise, or some such. Probably very melodramatic.

I was bummed to miss the end but there was nothing anyone could have said or done that would have dragged me away from my better half this weekend. I'm sorry I had to let the team down. It's been an amazing run working with them for me as well.

Actually it was more the singing of the Madrigals that broke the rain... really. The timing was just about dead on, moon came out, stars to be seen, and the most kick ass song ever sung in a LARP drifting through the trees to where we fought.

ARGH!!!!

We were all under the trees when that happened. When I gave the cue for the crescendo, I felt a wave of moonlight... was that the clouds breaking?

Rick was sorely missed and I hope we can all add our positive vibes to
your "powerful psychic energies" to wish Monique all the best and good
health soon.

The players really did step up and pull together and it was just great
to both watch it and be involved in it.

Getting to be part of that singing group was humbling and awe-inspiring.
Right up to that moment I never really appreciated the emphasis on music
in the game. But that was a really emotional moment and wow - getting to
sing with a group that talented was an absolute honour.

The whole event rocked, even with the weather, which I rather suspect was
planned to demoralize the pc's and emphasize the hopelessness of the
situation... well, anyway it was well timed. The staff was amazing, the
plot wrap-ups and shadowing for what's coming was compelling - it was
really a great event.

There's a long post with my favorite event moments coming shortly in my
journal - it's just a lot of typing cause, well, I'm still verbose :-)

Hurry up, I'd love to see your take! And I really was so startled when you asked with such serious politeness whether you could briefly interrupt our conversation, then threw your arms around me. (CANON! DUDE!!!!!)

Mr. Outlaw Blade, we love you too. Very well done on pulling together an excellent collection of chemistry and interests.

I am SO GLAD you sang with us... and I am sorry you missed the "last call". You should have heard all of our voices roll across the field at the last cut-off.

You were AMAZING... thank you for singing with us!

"We tried to get the newer players involved - physically and emotionally- in the game..."

You absolutely did. While this was my second LARP event EVER as a PC, I can see the possibilities opening for me as both a single player and a member of a mixed group of experienced and inexperienced players.

Huzzah, and thanks for helping me look to the future.

Me, I'm just wondering what... sans_peur June 12 2006, 21:53:05 UTC
Norwalk Hospital staff will think when a thunderstorm rolls through their halls as those powerful psychic energies hit. I wouldn't be surprised if a lightning strike hits as someone's stroking out and successfully revives them, either.
