Despite the odd occurrence last month, the island had returned to normal and there seemed to be no sign of further snow. Though perhaps Robin was a little less complacent and he spent more time making sure he had plenty of firewood than he had previous. Though he left off the wood chopping at the sound of fuss from Much's pen ( Read more... )

Breaking the news that the new arrival to Serenity would be a puppy before it was a baby - well she wasn't sure how it'd go over, still Kaylee was spending time with the pup now, taking her on walks away from Summerfell, though not yet keeping her overnight and they were getting along just fine ( ... )

Robin grinned at her. "Oh she's yours then," he said, tickling the puppy as she licked at Kaylee. "That explains it. Taking after you already the little trouble maker." He glanced at his slightly mangled boot before throwing Much's food in the pen. The deer still looked unimpressed by the wolf and ignored it. "It seems near everyone is to have a wolf," he hoped this one would not grow to the size of Robb's but it seemed the same breed - at least a female would be smalled. "what's this one called then?" he asked.

"Makin' trouble? Since when." She scowled, but it was only in play, she hasn't got much argument to make, having been rescued from a Tiger. Though her rather stony look was not so false when he suggested everyone had a wolf, as if this one wasn't special. "No they ain't, not like this one." She defended quickly, though did not hold the grudge for long, as the idea of a name clearly had her stumped. "Didn't think it were so tough- 'course I can't be givin' her a name like any ol'farm critter." The pup squirmed again and Kaylee shifted her about when she started trying to gnaw her fingers.

"Thought of a few- I'm likin' meǐ rén best so far, means beauty. 'Cause a reckon she is one, don'tcha think?" Kaylee attempted to make the puppy hold her head still, which she refused playfully.

Robin watched them play and laugh, "I'm very sorry," he said looking contrite. "She's a very special wolf, I see that now." She was certainly squirmier than any of the full grown ones Robin had seen. And as yet unnamed. He manages to refrain for suggestion finger biter as a name. He did not think it would go over well.

"Beauty?" he said with a laugh, "are you sure?" He petted the pup in her arms and found his own fingers now the target of the little wolf's apparent hunger. "More like Beast! I hope you've been feeding her!"
