It had started like any other island day, it had only been after Robin had tipped the latest load of island vegetation into Much's pen (to add further insult to injury the deer was female, he'd come up with a new name if Much actually arrive for perhaps Marian had a point.) Robin did not really see what the problem was. He needed something to occupy his time and people needed to eat. But some people seemed to think he was insulting them with his offer. Robin's focus is not exactly on the room or the nest of blankets. It's not exactly a bed but compared to places he's slept it's luxurious - not that he is planning on sleeping. Robin knew that it was not sensible to live on smoked meat alone, he could almost hear Much's voice in his head chastising him but smoked venison was what he had in stores - and he had rather a lot of it now that it was no longer cold. It could be said that the snow made even uneventful patrols eventful in a way. Robin had almost been reminded of home when it had started but after a month he is almost tired of it. He pulls his stuck boot out of a snow drift and resolves once more to watch where he is going. It won't be winter in Nottingham yet and he can take solace in that. If ( Read more... ) -

Robin had been in a foolish way that he had known even he would regret been looking forward to his first winter back in England. Five years without snow was too long. Back there though it was a thought he had kept to himself. Winter killed, it had even before he left and it would be a hard time for the gang and the people of Nottingham. Of course ( Read more... )
