Character: Tifa Lockhart

Personality: Tifa Lockhart is the embodiment of a strong woman, running a bar singlehandedly and raising two children without batting a single eyelash at the young age of twenty-two. Despite all this, she still maintains the 'girl next door' persona. She is perceptive, patient, and optimistic, willing to be the listener of the group. While she is social, Tifa is not very outspoken about her own emotional problems and the like, tending to keep everything to herself, not wanting to spark the worry of others. She is the type of person to take everything in moderation; she tries not to be too serious, but at the same time, knows when seriousness is required. Caring deeply about her friends, Tifa is always the one asking questions regarding the health of her comrades.
While she can look and play the part of a dainty and feminine hostess, Tifa can tear the battlefield with her martial arts. From her time of learning in Nibelheim to her adventures with Cloud and the others before and around the events of Advent Children, Tifa has had enough time to hone her skills. Her strength lies in the combination of punches and kicks she can land in her opponent, rather than her strengths. When she does manage to lift up her opponent in ways she shouldn't be able to do so as a slender framed woman, she is using her opponent's strength against them.
Relationships.
Cloud Strife: To Tifa, Cloud is an extremely close friend, if not more from her end. She is willing to sacrifice just about anything for him, including her own agenda; this is especially apparent when Cloud contracts mako poisoning in Mideel. She is extremely patient and perceptive when it comes down to taking care of Cloud. She trusts him enough to live under the same roof with him, and even take care of two children--both of which are not theirs, but love nevertheless. Despite Cloud leaving the family unit continuously, Tifa bears with his absence time and time again, only reprimanding him when the two children are kidnapped. She is willing to give Cloud the benefit of doubt... most of the time. She seems to understand Cloud well, and is willing to compromise with him in order to make life easier for him.
Aerith Gainsborough: Though Tifa's time with Aerith is short-lived, they are initially the two girls who spend the most time in each other's company, aside from Yuffie. While some tensions to exist between the two at first, they mingle well together from their first meeting until their departure. Tifa feels utterly indebted to Aerith and guilty about not being able to save her, but tries not to dwell on the past. Upon seeing Aerith once again in Nuadoria, Tifa tries hard to keep Aerith safe; often times, she works in conjunction with Zack and the others in order to make sure that someone's at least staying with her while they take care of their own business.
Zack Fair: Tifa never knew Zack very well, even though she was his guide in Nibelheim. Upon meeting him again in Nuadoria, Tifa was surprised but at the same time, glad to see him. While they did not spend much time together before, the Nibelheim events had brought them closer together than they had initially thought. They often work together in order to keep Aerith safe from others.
Reno: It's not certain when Tifa actually started talking to Reno, but it is obvious that from their initial relationship (she tried to bring his employer down, he destroyed her home sector and tried to kill her friends, the usual), they've come a long way. Though it was within his own agenda, Reno was the one that allowed Cloud to go and save her children; for that, Tifa is grateful. She is very easygoing when it comes down to speaking with Reno, but due to their differences, it often turns into a friendly banter; something that is often forgiven by the next day.
Yuffie Kisaragi & Vincent Valentine: Two close friends from home, Tifa is always glad for Yuffie's optimism and Vincent's wisdom. While Yuffie is off with Vincent trying to figure things out about Nuadoria, Tifa trusts the two to stay out of trouble... but not enough trust in Yuffie's personality getting on Vincent's nerves. She always worries that Yuffie will end up getting shot by Vincent.
Barret: From the time that Tifa settled in Midgar, it was Barret who had helped her through the initial hardships. Tifa seems to understand Barret very well, and initially tries hard to be the mediator between him and Cloud. Barret also trusts Tifa enough to take care of Marlene while he is away, and in turn, Tifa trusts Barret enough to come back to care for his daughter. In terms of Marlene, it is obvious that she looks up to Tifa as a role model.
