Okay, I am a little late with this, but I do want to kind of recap 2004. Maybe then I will be able to get some closure and realize it is over (and also that it began). I don't think people should lie to themselves. I think everybody on the planet likes Modest Mouse -- whether they'll admit it or not is something else. They're a band that you can't help but like. I bought the album The Lonesome Crowded West and listened to it. It's not really the kind of music I like and the album is like 74 minutes long, but I CAN'T STOP LISTENING TO IT!! I'm sitting there like, "Why the fuck do I like this album so damn much?!" I think Modest Mouse have some secret, conspiracy-like hypnotism device playing in the background of all their songs that makes you like them subconsciously. (Though it doesn't hurt to point out, just so I won't ruin my indie cred by being like, so TOTALLY mainstream, that my favorite MM CD [and one of my favorite CDs period] is The Moon & Antarctica, which is the one that nobody seems to know about.
