The day after the wedding is Christmas Day and after reading about what is usually done at this time I thought perhaps we could have a meal together? I wouldn't mind putting it all together

Let's just say that I can only imagine how they might celebrate a day devoted to love, being that the new year is celebrated by kissing.

I didn't think we needed a day to celebrate love to do that. Otherwise I think we would have to ask for such a holiday to be every day.

It's just to show your love. Some have a special dinner, or go somewhere nice. Give gifts. Things like that.

That sounds nice, although I do not think we should limit that to only one day, either.

No, not angry. Just a bit disappointed, although you're right that it will be nice to celebrate the holiday with everyone.
