for me perfect pitch would be a death wish. all my friends who have it hate it.

You really should look into the accompaniment business. If you've got a decent amount of time to learn new piano music, it's a great way to make a little cash on the side. Plus, there's not as much pressure as you think. Basically people are focusing on the main attraction, not you, and if you do happen to mess up, you learn to cover it up pretty quickly. You can doooo eeeet.
