[He's had almost nothing to say since Rhode left, unless it was in person. Or said with his fists, huh, Castiel?

But it's a new month and the rainbow sheep are gone.

Oh also, he looks terrible. Definitely time to go see Rapunzel for a tune up.They say one of the most peculiar things about humans is their hobbies. I have to wonder what happens to ( Read more... )

Ya get three types. One, the ones that work together even more closely, doing everything they can do to watch each others' backs and make sure their buddies haven't overlooked anything that might be even the most remote threat. Two, the ones that go off an' do their own thing somewhere else, sometimes completely alone, and sometimes just with a bit of casual interaction with the rest, but no matter what they just want ta be left alone in the end. And three, the ones that just turn on each other, sooner or later.

[He grins easily.] Most people fall in that last category. 'cept I wouldn't call 'survival' a hobby.

I wouldn't either.

What category do you think you fall into, Reno? ['Think' being the operative word.]

[He notices it. He notices the use of his name, too, from someone whose face he doesn't recognize, but doesn't even skip a beat.]

Depends. [Reno gives a light shrug.] Here? Don't know if there's anyone else who it could be number one with, since it takes more than just one person to really fall into that camp. [And Ramuh knows there's only a handful of them back home.] So probably a bit of two, with some a' three tossed in.

Survival is not necessarily the antithesis to indulgence, is it?

[He leans to one side, resting his cheek on a hand as he studies her]

Of course not. But most people never learn that...balance.

It is a balance which cannot be struck, if one is not prepared to take full responsibility for one's actions. Something that appears to be exceedingly difficult for many.

Do you enjoy being buried alive in a grave lined with animal organs?

If not, then yeah. Yeah, he is.

[Consider this his good deed for the month. He's feeling ... nice. Which is weird but he's cool with it for now.]

How are you adapting, Jean Louis?
