Happy sigh for the 'I love you's'! And poor Sharon. You're doing an excellent job with her struggles, not just in regards to her diagnosis, but with her recovery, too. I'm excited for the 'wrap-up' because I want them both to be happy, and I feel like I can see it for them, despite their issues.

Awww, she needs Brenda, it was kind of sad and depressing but it was understandable, she's hurting and dealing with a lot of issues, it was beautifully written.
Please keep them coming!

I love seeing Sharon interacting with the different people in her life. Nice web your weaving. And I love how she can sort of be a different person with each of them - discuss different things, show different aspects & vulnerabilities. I just hope she does let Brenda in...

“Back when I was your age that was a positive thing.”
Haha Love snarky!sharon

“I will sleep with her when I damn well want to.”
This felt bittersweet. Sharon standing her ground with her son, yes. But the reality is her cancer has meant she probably couldn't have had sex even if she wanted to. So not just honorable...but sick. Not to mention the scene that comes next and Sharon's self-consciousness with her new body.

she felt like hell from the chemo she’d received the week before
Just pointing out a realistic detail - the effects of chemo do indeed typically show themselves the week following. :) A+ for your research
