Its interesting how Sharon seems so unsure of herself in the bar with the young man but so in control on the phone with Brenda. Like she only has confidence & control when it comes to this woman who clearly makes her loose her sense. She needed to get swept away. Though her partner didn't quite fulfill his end of that promise.
It was neutral ground and her orgasms seemed to be reserved for someone who didn’t deserve them at all.
This is a beautiful sentence.

Love this exchange and the harshness of Sharon's response.

This is so true and part of what made Brenda such a fascinating character to know. It seems they're doing it a bit with Sharon, as well. While not quite as insane as Brenda, Sharon certainly seems to have it together at work and then feel overwhelmed when she gets home.
