[ private filter :: 85% unhackable :: eventually all scrawled out ]

It hurts. I nearly forgot that. Forgot that it hurt. I woke last night and my eye was pulsing. Activated on its own again-it's as if it's expecting something.

I should be reassured, shouldn't I? This means it's still working the way it ought. But the Akuma wouldn't be the only threat here. And no matter where I walk, I can't seem to move forward.

At least everything's healed now. That makes it easier.

In the past few days. . . I didn't hear any of his thoughts. Or see them, either. In fact, his reflection hasn't changed at all since I arrived. Doesn't the power limit work on him?

[ half an hour later, he scribbles over the first filter. ]

bandages
aloe
guide from library to show what aloe looks like
possibly just ask at grocery (is aloe edible??)
meat jerky (do they sell jerky?) (I wonder if I could carry twenty pounds of it.)
bottled water
large traveling bag (??)

Over at last. Here's to hoping that saying so doesn't bring it back. I think I'd like to have a conversation again without having to wonder if I was supposed to hear that.

Has anyone heard from a Miss Saga Thanatos recently?

[ Somewhere in the forest, there's a space where all colour drains away and everything turns to black and white. To someone at the edge, the borders seem to expand and withdraw like waves. Less than a hundred meters in, Allen's standing between trees with what looks like a glowing cogwheel-monocle perched over one eye.

He's got one fist braced against the trunk, and he's concentrating very hard. And, because this is Allen, he may be a bit less deep in the forest than he intends.

For Allen with normal eyes, see the grocery about an hour later. ]
