Summary: hp!wonkyun, Auror Wonho is sent on a mission to bring down the dark and powerful wizard. The more he learns about this mysterious wizard, the harder he falls in love.

We all know that aurors and dark wizards are never meant to mix. One's the pursuer and the other's the pursued. The second Changkyun slows down for Wonho, he knows it'll be the end for the both of them.

So they both keep running.

Changkyun leaves small tokens of himself behind everywhere he goes, clues for Wonho to find. And in turn, Changkyun observes Wonho from a distance. Wonho fascinates Changkyun. He's not like the other aurors - this one has a (fatal) doubt in the evilness of dark wizards. That is, Wonho doesn't think Changkyun may be as evil as the rest of the world believes.

Is Wonho in the wrong? Is Changkyun truly different from the others?

The first token Wonho finds left behind the crime scene is a griffin feather pen. Scribbled on the wall is a message, a poem of missed chances and blue moons. Ah, so Changkyun's a poet, Wonho muses.

At the next scene, after the blood is washed off from the ground, Wonho notices a glint on the floor: a necklace with a seven-spiked star pendant.

The scene after, Wonho notices a mark in the shape of a W scratched on the tree. He touches his necklace.

Changkyun continues to make his presence known for Wonho.

Wonho continues to believe this is Changkyun opening up to him.

And Changkyun continues to smile as he watches on - a smile of love or of deceit, it's hard to tell.

Wonho calculates Changkyun's move well - too well. he catches the fleeing assailant just as he escapes from his next attack. Shouts, a shuffling of robes as he pounces on the other, and a flash of bright blue light later, there is silence.

Wonho comes to his senses on the ground. He feels something warm and sticky and looks to his right, expecting the owner of the blood. Instead he's greeted with emptiness.

He shoots up and immediately looks for his wand. His wand, too, is gone. Panicking now, he squints into the forest and sees a pair of bloody footprints leaving him. Without a thought he immediately follows them.

He finds him curled up under a tree and holding a gaping wound on his side. Changkyun looks up at Wonho and a flash of fear crosses his face before it's masked over by a sly grin.

"You best be on your way, Auror. I've already sent out a message," he points to the sky. Wonho looks up and sees a giant skull painted in the clouds. He stares, confused.

"Well? What are you waiting for?" Changkyun grimaces as he presses onto his gash. "My henchmen will arrive any time now."

Wonho takes one last look at the dark mark before giving his attention to the dark wizard. "You're hurt," he crouches down and takes no time in stopping Changkyun's protests as he begins to tend his injury.

Changkyun is in no state to fend off Wonho's hands but that doesn't stop him. "Stop- that- immediately!"

Not listening, Wonho rolls Changkyun to his side and pins his body down as he uses his own scarf to use it as a makeshift gauze around the bloody wound.

"Press down on that area to slow down the bleeding. You know," Wonho glances over at a disbelieving Changkyun, "I could help you more if you gave me back my wand."

Changkyun rolls his eyes and sticks out his left boot.

Wonho huffs. What an unsanitary place to keep his most prized possession. Closing his eyes, he sticks his hand in and pulls out a smelly but otherwise functioning wand and proceeds to mend the wound.

Wound cleaned up and healed some time later, Wonho sprawls down on the ground. The magic itself was easy, but it was putting up with this dark wizard's attitude that exhausted him.

"What are you doing NOW?" Changkyun gets up on his feet. "Didn't I tell you to run away if you valued your life?" He pulls out his own wand and points it at Wonho.

Wonho snorts, turns over and points at the dark mark grinning eerily in the sky.

"Since when does the dark mark have ear piercings?"

Changkyun widens his eyes and looks for a lie. "Well, you see-"

Wonho cuts him off. "There is no backup coming because you never wanted them to come. And if you wanted to kill me, you wouldn't have deflected your own wand's spell onto yourself." He smiles as Changkyun stares at him, aghast.

Changkyun comes out of his stupor a second later, the sly grin back on his face.

"My my, Aurors these days sure have an imagination, don't they," he chortles loudly, looking everywhere but at Wonho. "Anyways, I'll be on my way and I hope you will too..."

He is halfway into apparating away when Wonho roughly pulls him back. They both tumble onto the ground in a tangled mess.
Wonho maneuvers them so he has Changkyun pinned under him again.

"I think you're forgetting that I'm still an Auror on a mission and you're still a highly wanted dark wizard," his eyes glint playfully.

"The unfairness-" Changkyun struggles underneath him. "Don't I at least get a head start for saving your life back there?"

"Didn't you hear me? I said I'm on a mission," Wonho's voice drops to a whisper, "and that you're wanted. How wanted?"

Wonho turns so his ear is facing a confused Changkyun.

"Err, highly?"

Wonho nods his head, in an almost evil grin.

Changkyun coughs. "Okay but can we re-establish something? I'm the bad guy, right? So why are you acting like you're..."

Changkyun's voice falters as Wonho brings his face closer.

"Hmm?" Wonho hums, his eyes alternating from Changkyun's eyes to his lips.

"Like you're..." Wonho inches closer and then backs off teasingly, and then inches forward again all the while smiling in the most maddening way.

"That's ENOUGH-" Changkyun lifts his head up and smashes his lips into Wonho's. Wonho jerks back in surprise but Changkyun catches his robes and pulls him back down on him.

They finally part when they have to catch their breaths.

"Let's keep one thing clear," Changkyun huffs between heavy breathing. "I-," he points to himself, "am the bad guy. And naturally, bad guys top because they're the dominant ones."

Wonho raises his eyebrows and smirks. "Oh we'll see about that." Changkyun pretends he didn't hear him.

Changkyun continues. "And another thing. YOU-" he jabs his finger into Wonho's chest. "You need to keep your teasing to a minimum. or else."

Wonho cutely tilts his head. "Or else what?"

"Or else I'll... I'll-"

The second kiss was initiated by the auror.

monsta x, wonkyun
