I rather like the metaphor (is it just a metaphor? dunno, but I don't think one can ever actually become someone else's property, so I'm more comfortable calling it a metaphor) of giving oneself to someone. In a fairly symmetric way.
But not being (passive) given away, by someone, to someone else.
i, too, enjoy it as giving myself to mm, and him giving himself to me. but not so much the traditional exchange of the minister going "who gives this woman to be wed" and her father replying "i do". we're cutting that part out of the service
Have you got a flower plan? Or know what colour your bridesmaids are wearing? 'Cause that's your colour. Or colours. And if the answer to the flowers question is "we're driving to the supermarket that morning and buying them out of tulips and gardinnias" (like it was with chelly's wedding) and your answer to the dresses question is "whatever colour the girls come home from the shopping trip in" (like it was with my aunt) then the answer to the colour question would be TASTE THE RAINBOW!! (which would be very much you)
i let my sister choose the bridesmaid dresses, and theyre green, same as my ribbon. for the sake of consistency, and so that people dont get confused, i got a green tie for Mittu. the flowers, however, will be gotten at atwater the day before, and im letting each of the bridesmaids pick out their own. even Mittu.
i like that answer. i will now use it, or abbreviate it to "skittles". incidentally, i never got over mint skittles. or chocolate ones. thats not part of the rainbow!

i like that answer. i will now use it, or abbreviate it to "skittles". incidentally, i never got over mint skittles. or chocolate ones. thats not part of the rainbow!
