for some reason everytime I try to update rulette this message comes up...

Incorrect time value: Your most recent journal entry is dated 2005-07-09 22:27, but you're trying to post one at 2005-04-17 18:45 without the backdate option turned on. Please check your computer's clock. Or, if you really mean to post in the past, use the backdate option

I'm pretty sure all you have to do is go to edit entries and click the last one you made and change the date to one that already passed. Since you made one on "9-7" it doesn't know how today could be a day before 9-7 unless you were trying to backdate it. :O

My old journal used to do this all the time for no reason. The best solution would probably be to go back and edit the date of the previous entry w/backdate whenever you get this message. You also might need to change your timezone and clock, if for some reason it's not set right. I hope that helps.
