We had the Yule ritual last Saturday and it was a lot of ups and downs. It was anounced the week before that it'd be a blot, an Asatru right, so I've been all excited. I hurried there as quickly as i could, anxious about missing anything (due to work I get there late). But luckily it hadn't started yet. And didn't start, for a while ( Read more... )

Sorry to hear your ceremony didn't go as well as hoped.

You're too far away from home to let something you wife is doing (or ignoring in this case) let you down too much. I hope things get better soon.

The ceremony was still pretty good so I'm happy with it.

You know how it goes over here, we still stress out about home more than what's goin on over here. The blessings and curses of instant communication.

Besides, a big part of why I want her to get into to the books is to talk about them.

I'm sure you've tried this before, but what if you get her used to the idea of book discussion by reading one of her style books and showing her how close you can become just having it to discuss. Maybe if she enjoys the togetherness sharing some of her books, she'll be more receptive to discussing one of yours. Maybe its a long shot, but with all the miles apart you have to find little connections where you can. Good Luck

We've always been good at talking at great length about books we've both read. And any book she wants me to read I do, usually immediately. Before we got married she had me read 'Parsifal Mosiac' by Ludlum and we still reference things about the book to this day. So that's not a problem, it's just getting her to read any book thta I recommend to her.

Divorce already....children do not die from divorce and parents are happier when they get to be who they really are.
