Allen couldn't shake the feeling that something was a little odd as he headed down the stairs and through the hallways of the Order, heading for the cafeteria. It was a path he'd walked many, many times - and yet, he somehow felt as though he hadn't done so in years ( Read more... )

Jogging up to the cafeteria in short order upon ending their golem conversation, Daisya stumbled in no more than a few minutes after Allen arrived. The last few hours of consciousness for him had passed as somewhat of a blur, but nothing about it had been particularly alarming so Daisya did not spare any thought to it for the moment. Life was short, after all, and he wanted to pack in as much adventure and fun as he could in what time he had. He never wanted to be someone who stopped moving forward.

It didn't take him long to find Allen, as the other was not particularly someone who blended blended well into crowds.

"Yo! I'm here!" he called out as he caught up with his new acquaintance. "I didn't catch your name, by the way."

Allen turned around at the cheerful call and blinked, then smiled and waved at the newcomer. It was always nice to meet new people and make new friends. Daisya had an aura about him that was cheerful, happy... he'd be a good person to be around, Allen decided. It would be hard to be depressed around Daisya Barry.

"Oh, I'm sorry!" Allen flushed a little and put a hand behind his head. "My name is Allen Walker." He paused, then held his right hand out with a smile.

"Allen Walker, huh? Neat name! 's it English?" Daisya pressed cheerfully, taking Allen's hand to shake rather energetically. "I'm Turkish myself. If you let me at it, I make a mean baklava. My old lady's recipe."

Friends were always a good thing, in Daisya's opinion. What else did a person fight for, after all? The Vatican? The fate of the world? It was stupid. The idea that the world would end if they stopped fighting was ever present, of course, but what really pushed a person that extra mile, that last push on a broken leg with three fractured ribs, was the thought that their friends would die if they stopped.

Allen was immediately set at ease by Daisya's cheerful manner and easy chatter, and he nodded as they walked into the cafeteria together. "Yes, it's English," he said. "I'm from there... Turkey? I've been there too, with Master." He shuddered just a bit, then grinned. "I'd love to try your baklava!"

As they approached the window, Allen smiled uneasily. "Ah, one thing," he said. "I'm a parasite-type, so..."

What that meant was that a few minutes later, Allen was the proud owner of dozens of plates of food, with a sheepish smile on his face. "You can take a little of something if you're still hungry!"
