I Am Assured That Peace Will Come to Me

I am happily ensconced in beautiful Sebastopol, CA for the next 10 days, where I hope to run into Tom Waits at the Gravenstein Apple Fair this weekend.

I am housesitting/cat sitting at a lovely house with a bananas garden/deck/fountain/lounging area, halfway between Bodega Bay and The Bohemian Grove (of Tales of the City fame), and couldn't ask

Enjoy the retreat. One thing my husband and I should have done this summer, but didn't, was get away. In part, we're not sure what we can do with a 1-year-old. Also, he has Jury Duty starting tomorrow, and we weren't sure how many days that would take up. Since his boss has certain built in vacations (all the Jewish Holidays are off in their entirety and paid!), it's hard to ask for extra time off.

The cat is adorable!
