She is super swell! I am enjoying them immensely (and enjoyed them previously in PA and other places.)

And the bff is very excited to hear that there are more than Amelia Peabody books by her, too. :)

It is! You might like it, though. And it might work for a mature high schooler. A lot of it is set in Berkeley (one of the main characters is a grad student there) and it talks a lot about all kinds of Jewish culture, especially the Bialystoker sect.

I'm really enjoying it, although (and this is a spoiler) there is surprise!Septemeber 11th fallout in it, if that's an issue.

I just looked at the author's name again, and I've read at least one book by her. I don't remember if I liked it or not. If I didn't, it probably had to do with her take on Orthodox Judaism. But I'll give this a try. I saw there are 76 holds on 48 copies! Maybe I'll get it in time for the Jewish Holidays though...
