Nice to see you out and about (well, kind of, obv.) And glad to hear you are catching the odd break! I hope the nose breaking is a joke, btw, and not real, right? RIGHT??
Your brother is a devious man!!! Whose tactics obviously work on infants. Eeeevilll...
Glad to hear the parentals are getting better, and that the eighth wonder of the world is continuing to charm the pants off his entourage!
HELLO, I live on the Internet (sometimes) now! It is very exciting.
And my nephew said "dada" today, or so claims my brother. His wife was all "random sounds! They are random sounds!" but he is having none of it. :)
And yes, I did totally break my own nose (It's a tiny, minor crack. I hit the bridge of my nose very, very hard against the edge of a bar table at the club where we saw Panic. Whilst reaching for my purse. Because I am so very punk rock, apparently.)
I am well! I have become utterly addicted to A Game of Thrones, unfortunately - started with the show, which a flister recommended highly, and I thought I'd watch, and got completely into; then it progressed to the books.
I am now halfway through the second one, and realising that once I finish book 4, I shall have to wait for the hardback edition of no. 5 to come out (thankfully next month), and then spend the next few years anticipating the last two books of the series. It's a sad sad state of affairs. BUT THAT STUFF IS ADDICTIVE (there's a reason I gave up on epic fantasy and sci fi - with rare exceptions - some years back. So I could read some proper grown up books. And then there was fanfic...)
IDEK, S - I think I'm hardwired for pulp fiction. ;)
I'm glad you're getting a bit of a reprieve from taking care of your mom. It's not easy. I had a bit of that when my Mom went to rehab... but she's home now and needs more care than before!
It is a nice little reprieve, even though I do sort of feel bad saying it. She's coming home on Wednesday, so the break is over until she goes back in for surgery next month, but it was nice while it lasted.
I was lucky enough to see loracj last weekend, and we were talking about you. I'm going to try to swing another visit to NYC this summer, and see if we can all do a meet up.
Baby steps have to keep getting bigger, and I mean for everyone... since there's an actual baby rolling around here, too.
Great to "see" you and to hear you're getting a little "me" time AND sleeping for more than 3 hours in a row. I'm looking at mastering that feat some year. Maybe. Goals are good!
Hang in there. I'll keep trying to use the power of positive thinking for you all, but in the mean time, find the fun where you can!
If you had to take a detour from the Magical Land, what better timing than to be on "nephew time?" I was just in Boston recently and I can't believe my nephew is hitting double digits. It seems like just a couple of years ago I was there during his first summer for the thrills, and some spills.
Me? Busy. Crazy. Crazy busy? I'm still in the holding pattern of to relocate or not to relocate. At least the lack of real estate market has tabled that for now so it's relatively moot, not that I'm not still trying to sort it out!

I'm glad your Mom is doing better -- I'll keep sending good thoughts your way.

She is improving, slowly but steadily. She is coming back home from rehab for a short break before they operate again at the beginning of July.
How are things down your way?

I am especially jealous of your fangirl time today! X-Men and Miss B and SF, oh my.
I am going to be there end of Julyish, I think. Will you be around? I can't wait to see you.

The U.S. of Overnighter is on the map.

The baby is, by far, the best part of hanging on the East Coast for now. He is almost as exciting as sleeping for 6 hours in a row!
How are things with you?
