The Advent of Season Four

Oct 17, 2006 23:21

Welcome one and all to the opening day/night of the O.C. Season Four Advent/Missing Scene Challenge. While each author will post the story to his or her LJ on the agreed-upon date, you'll be able to find all the links here as the Challenge progresses.

Since we take a very Chino-esque views of the rules around this here fandom, as long as you can convince me it's still your day somewhere in the world (from 12AM Kiribati to 12PM in the far reaches of Alaska), you can post at any time. Just leave a comment after this post with a link -- raw, please (i.e. www.whatever.com) and not embedded (i.e. like this) -- and I'll add you to the list.

If, for some reason you can't make your deadline, please let ctoan and I know ASAP at oc.challenges [at] gmail.com -- we do have a few pinch hitters waiting in the wings.

Thanks to all for participating, and please remember that feedback for the hardworking authors equals love.

Finally, if anyone out there is artistically inclined and wants to volunteer an Advent icon (other than my *actual* Advent icon, for which -- thanks, zybysko!), I would be eternally grateful.

Just remember -- a new O.C. is only three Thursdays away!

The Advent Challenge line-up:

October 18 -- elzed wrote Drunk, featuring Ryan/Taylor.
October 19 -- ctoan wrote Paper Crown, a Ryan-centric Cohens 1 story.
October 20 -- A Friday twofer! Two very different takes on the Cohens 1! loracj2 wrote The Blue Melancholy Curving and Whipping Maelstrom and anne35 wrote The Meeting.
October 21 -- smearedink wrote People Will Say All Kinds Of Things, a little Seth/Taylor het for your weekend enjoyment!
October 22 -- Another double shot! theswearingkind wrote a sweet and funny Seth/Ryan fic: Sam Jackson Ain't Got Nothing On These Two and diva5256 wrote the angst-o-rama Perfect Blue Buildings, a post-The Graduates fic.
October 23 -- helen_c makes everyone all sniffly this Monday with some prime post-Graduation Ryan future fic, A Memory No One Can Steal.
October 24 -- muchtvs has decided to rip our hearts out and them stomp on them collectively in her latest, the darkly wonderful Polaroid
October 25 -- Famous99 has also taken a dark and twisted path, in her own fractured fairy tale, Once Upon a Time in a Cabin in Vail.
October 26 -- More two for one goodness! Both of today's authors played with the limits of the prompts, to our great good fortune. themus_revenge has Ryan -- past and present, in These Defining Moments, and fredsmith518 plays with poetry -- and Seth/Summer -- in Summer's Warmth Rejected.
October 27 -- 60sChic wrote the lovely Ryan and Kirsten (not like that!) fic The Edge.
October 28 -- cheekymice wrote a Ryan story that manages to be hot and sad all at once, not to mention really, really cruel in Kismet.
October 29 -- millstone1005 steps in fortuitously with a pinch hit -- the wonderful Kirsten POV Numb.
October 30 -- sdlucy is eager to start our Monday off in an intense fashion with the Ryan POV In the Shadow of Lone Gunmen.
October 31 -- astra_argentea finishes up our countdown on a high note with the witty The Interview. And chazper knows just what to get a girl -- and comes through despite being on the DL! -- with her charming and wonderful A Evening of T and A, a tease of a tale, with the hint of more to come.

Thanks to all who particpated and commented! Happy New O.C. Week! And get redy for a flood of fun fiction tomorrow, aka "Missing Scene Day."
