Use your heads.

There's bottled water in the stores, and free water in the streams, or if you want to go as far as the beach you can get your water there and boil out the salt.

It's inconvenient but records show this kind of thing has happened before. Obviously it didn't last.

So calm down.

[ a pause and an annoyed exhale, then the click of ( Read more... )

This has happened before?

At least two other times, but always with some kind of variation.

That's according to the network archives and other people.

So the deities have a sense of humor. Good to know.

Maybe. Or they have limits and instead of making new curses they recycle old ones.

It could be a number of things, depending on how you look at it.

Interesting. So that'd mean that they do have some limits to their power and how much they can affect the City. If that really were the case, anyway.

It could. As there does seem to be a number of ways of looking at how this place works.

Everyone has a weakness. Everyone has a limit. Even perceived gods. Even the City itself is limited. It doesn't go on forever. There's a barrier closing us all in.

No one has ever been able to get outside to see what's there though---your world, my world...or nothing maybe.

This is my first time hearing about a barrier. It surrounds the entire City, I assume?

Or just empty, infinite subconscious. Yet another mystery to go along with this place, then.

The entire City, by reputation. I've heard of people trying to get through a number of ways, but the one direction I haven't heard reports on is by sea. So if anyone has tried sailing out, no one seems to know about it.

There's probably something preventing escape by that route, too. I don't know much about sea travel, though, so I probably wouldn't have much luck trying to verify it on my own.

How about yourself?

I always travel by air or on foot, but thinking on it, hypothetically someone could build a transport to fly over the water instead of needing a ship to go through it.

Like a small plane?

Something like that.

Talking it out like this. This place...the barriers.

What if what's on the other side is the same as Gran Pulse has been all these years to Cocoon?

But no.

We didn't have all of these other--

There might be other ways.

Could be. Engineering never was my specialty.

Mine either. Twenty times easier to take something apart than it is to build it.

I couldn't agree more.

How long have you been in the City for? If you don't mind me asking, that is.

Five months, giver or take.

You?
