Sounds simple enough.

Apparently not for everyone.

There was a request for a companion diagram.

You could always offer a one-on-one demonstration instead.

I did. They didn't respond, which is better for both of us.

I can't possibly imagine why.

I'm guessing this is another curse.

One of the more pointless ones but also one of the least harmful.

I'd heard that they weren't all completely disruptive, though after October I was starting to find that hard to believe.

October is notoriously problematic, but what you heard is true. Many curses are annoying more than life-threatening or altering.

So they're just meant to make us look foolish instead of having us outright suffer.

More or less, not that it always works.

It does succeed in wasting our time, though. Surely that counts for something.

Not a lot, but something, probably. Any kind of control counts for something, I figure.

How could I forget. Curses are all about losing one's self of control.

At the root, yes, but people do forget. They focus on the result--how embarrassing it is or how invasive it is--instead of the way their strings were pulled in the first place.

Some of them get by easier by accepting it, I think is the theory.

And we all become complacent once we do accept it. Psychologically, it makes sense. Humans adapt. And like anything, it's a strength that can be turned into a weakness.

A big one, considering if the majority goes the way of accepting then it's the people trying to get out who will look like the problem.

I doubt that's going to happen any time soon though.

Periodically there have been attempts to break through the barrier shelling us in. Reportedly, it never ends well.
