Arcades

When Jason and I went to see Iron Man, we got there a bit early, so we attempted to spend some time in the arcade. I say 'attempted' because the thing was just sad. Half of the games were broken down, and all of them were overpriced. Like Pacman cost 75 cents to play. 75 CENTS! WTF ( Read more... )

If you ever make it to Portland OR for some reason, check out Ground Control. It's an oldschool arcade filled with classics and I don't think anything costs over a quarter. After 7pm they serve beer too :3

We have a few 'Nickle-cades' around SLC, which of course means that the main coin of use there is the nickle. They tend to have a lot of older arcade games, but I call them classics! Though, they've never had X-Men or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, they do have Battle Toads.

However, your arcade does have beer. I don't drink, but plenty of my friends would take advantage of that!

I know! What are they thinking? And now that you mention it, they didn't have one pinball machine there either. Lame arcade!

I first played Asteroids in 1980. I think it was 1981 when I first played Pac Man. I always loved Battlezone and Solar Quest.

I don't know if your comment requires the "nerdy bear" icon....but rather that "gray muzzle" icon. ;)

Don't worry, gray muzzles are good. They always have the best candy for the kids. :D

Very true. Consoles have hurt the arcade. Still, when I was a kid the arcades will still going strong, as well as the consoles. They just need the fun games like I used to have.

I don't personally play a lot of arcade games but when I do, I often play Time Crisis, Area 51 and Cruisin' USA

Ahh, Cruisn' USA. That was a fun game. Though I do enjoy Cruisn' World more. Love racin' in the Outback! ;)
