I also felt like the way he died completed his character arc, as most of the DDS deaths managed to do. He woke up because he was so upset at failing his comrades. He died to protect his comrades and make sure their last efforts weren't in vain, as well as to rejoin the ones that were gone. It's always been his character focus.

That's true.

...Huh, come to think of it, their deaths really kind of echo the way they died in their past lives, as far as we know. I hadn't thought of it like that before. But Argilla went to defend someone she had vague romantic feelings for and who actually deserved them this time, Heat died at Serph's hands but actually kinda deserved it and okay with it because Sera was going to be protected, Gale and Angel...yeah, and Serph died actually loving Sera and being with her and protecting her this time. That hadn't occurred to me before. I wonder what that says about Cielo's previous life's death?

Maybe that at that time he was helpless to stop his death, and this time he chose and used his death for something?

I like that actually, yeah. And maybe that Cielo managed to use his death to protect Sera this time, while with his death last time his protection of Sera failed (because I assume they mostly focused on one kid at a time)
