2.5 week Elaine update

We saw the ped today for her2 week check up.  She's now 8 lbs 12 oz -  one pound, one oz more than her birth weight.  She's also 3/4" longer.  So, this puts her in the 50th percentile for weight, and 10th percentile for height.... guess who she's built like ( Read more... )

I'm so glad to hear everything is going well! I'd wanted to call, but was afraid of waking folks from much-needed sleep :)

I don't know if you did the zantac thing with your first, but if the ped wants to do the zantac route, you can generally find a compounding pharmacy that will make it with no alcohol and flavored however you want it flavored. We were all much happier that way.

That's good to know. We are going to see how she does for a few more weeks. If she doesn't improve or gets worse, then we'll explore the zantac route. So, hopefully, as she gets bigger, she'll out grow some of it. *fingers crossed*

Owen rarely spit up. We didn't have any of the digestive issues with him.

FWIW: There is a compounding pharmacy in Greenfield. I'm sure that there are others around (I suspect that the one in Monessen is even less useful)

Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Micah's reflux was hidden because he didn't spit up; the acids were just stopping half way up and then going back down, so he would just scream in pain. Zantac was a god-send for that. It took nearly 2 months for anyone to figure out that it wasn't just colic. :(

She looks adorable, deena! It's nice to hear that Owen is getting more and more used to being a big brother :) hope the reflux issues calm down soon :)
