I almost hate to make this update when I have a real one I've been meaning to write for the past few days, but I've got to say something, and I'm hoping someone else is as annoyed about this as I am ( Read more... )

There do seem to be less and less original songs on the radio, don't there? Martin has bemoaned some of the remakes as well... I think it would be cool for you to make a page like that...

I'm blocked in three ways in making that.

One, the research to find all the remakes. If I can't find where someone else has already done it, how will I track down all of them?
Two, I still don't know html, so any page design I try would necessarily look either generic or amateurish.
Three, where would I put the page?

Now, if someone else were willing to take care of those problems, I could easily write scathing commentary. ;)

I could do the design, I suppose I might be able to find the server space.... You'd have to send all the updates to me, though, cause I'm pretty pissy about sending out the password...

That would cover most of it, so now I quote something fairly obscure:

"but who will mulch?"

Meaning, I may get stuck doing the research myself, which may or may not suck. Dunno yet, I haven't begun the search for the names of the perpetrators. We'll see how that goes.

And you could have a sister site that focuses on bad movie remakes.

Bad movie remakes are things that I know about beforehand and can choose whether to watch or not.

Bad music remakes are played on radio stations alongside music I actually enjoy, and I receive no warning before they are played, so I have little choice of whether or not to hear at least some portion of them.

Therefore, I care not much about the movies, but I care quite a bit about the music. If I could as simply and easily avoid the music as I can the movies, they would not bother me much.

Although if KMFDM remade The Wall, I'd pay to see that.
