Finally got back from my doctor's appointment (the roads suck, just let me way!) The results of over 5 years of testing and elimination proves I do, in fact, have fibromyalgia
( Read more... )
Blargh! Congratudolences??? No, you're not insane. Yes, this sucks mightily. Be aware that you may not be able to exercise like you'd like, and weight loss will be slower for you than a non-Fibromite. I've got umpteen years experience with this particular beast. (She says while trying to stay upright while her neck spasms and her body decides to ignore her pain meds...) So, feel free to contact me back channel for info, sanity checks, etc. onyxtwilight has my personal contact info.
Thank you bunches! As much as I hate that anyone else has this, it's nice not to be alone, too.
I am blessed to have a wonderful doctor, who is very supportive. We are going to be trying different things until we find what works for me. One of those things may just be the Fibro Clinic at Sister Kenny Institute, here in the Twin Cities. The Institute started as a place for rehabilitating polio victims, and is now for anyone who need *muscular re-education*. They are one of the top rehab clinics of this kind in the country.
She did say that was the reason I am not loosing as fast as others have on the weight management program she has me on.
I will most likely be contacting you in the future. I know her first *homework* assignment was to read all I could about fibro and see if I could tell her something next month that she doesn't know about it. Any book or web suggestions???
I love my doctor, mostly because she doesn't let me give up.
