I've been tracking my protein intake since Esan mentioned I might not get enough and this could result in the dramatic and world shattering implosion of my muscles, and what I have found is this: it is easy - dead easy - to get enough protein.  Even if you are a vegetarian.  Even if you are a vegetarian trying to cut calories.  Simple!

I had a crapo night of sleep last night.  No surprise - Husband and I went out last night for dinner to celebrate him getting out of work early, and I indulged in about six drinks.  That's quite a lot for me, and it guarantees a broken night of sleep.  But we did have a good night - we watched the All Star game and ate veggie burgers, and chewed ( Read more... )

Day one of the diet (yesterday) was a success.  I went online and found some daily caloric needs calculators, and according to the internet I need somewhere around 1800 calories a day, probably a little less, to maintain my weight.  I'm pretty sedentary, let's admit it.  If only reading on the couch burned calories!  Alas!  Anyway, to lose a pound ( Read more... )
