Hello? Anybody home?

*waves shyly*

Recent events with the Wee Pook (no longer so wee) have made researching my pregnancy and the Wee Pook's early development necessary, and as I was a pretty regular poster way back then, I realized that this journal will be an invaluable tool.  So, I'll be hangin' around here for a while, gathering facts, and hopefully reconnecting with ( Read more... )

Yeah, there's not much depth on facebook, is there?

Very sad.

Welcome back. Grab yourself a chair and a cup of tea. :)

Yep - I second that - I loathe Facebook and only retain a presence there to see what people who've left LJ (poke Owl) are up to...

Yes, it has only been useful to stay in contact with people who otherwise won't respond to an email. I feel sorry for the alien anthropologist who has to sort through all those banal posts from our society.

I don't really get fb. It seems, to me anyway, to be a contest to be the most superficial. Plus, it is an opportunity for total strangers to piss on each other. Plus, I don't want everyone knowing my business. I know, I'm leaning towards the negative side of fb. I like my friend's list in here. I can be anonymous, or at least a.k.a. LJ seems more like a community where people share.

I think it can be a useful tool for keeping in touch on a superficial level, but that's just it - superficial and extraordinarily public.

If they were bars, Facebook would be the flashy/trendy bar down the street that's gone through 10 owners and themes in the same number of years, but failed to establish a regular clientele. LiveJournal would be Cheers ;-).

Heya!

I don't know if I've ever mentioned, but my nephew is autistic. He's 6 and a half, diagnosed when he was 3.

Heya!

I don't know if you have or not, but thanks for sharing that with me. I'm meeting more and more people who have a relative or a friend who has a child with autism.

I'm not sure if that's good or bad, really, but it's helpful!

hello!

I'm still around, reading - although, I haven't posted in ages............ I've been debating changing that, but haven't jumped one way or the other yet.

Hi!

Yeah, I hadn't even been reading for a long time. Glad you're still here, too, though. :-)
