Summer Nights
They have been driving for what seems like hours in a very uncomfortable silence. The tension as thick as their blood. The smell of the night whisks into the car as the engine of the car runs smoothly, nothing deterring it. Sehun made sure to get the car fixed at the automobile shop just a few minutes from their shared apartment.
Sehun doesn’t tell Lu Han a thing. He packs the bags that afternoon before Lu Han returns home from his errands he had to do for his mother out in the city over in what seems like yonder. He is beyond exhausted, sleep calling him and whispering into his ears like the softest lullaby he has ever heard.
When Lu Han crawls into bed half a sleep that night, he doesn’t expect the cool, rough palm to slide up his shirt and caress his back. He doesn’t expect to have his spine traced and his neck attacked with chaste pecks. He doesn’t expect that whisper that comes from the younger.
Come on, get up.
He doesn’t complain because he trusts Sehun. The soothing honey in his voices attacks Lu Han’s heart and he doesn’t think with his brain, but he thinks with his heart and he finds that to be the most logical thing he has ever done in his life.
When they are probably about 100 miles from home. Just the road ahead of them and nothing but the car lights going, the sound of the occasional dances of the crickets and the humming of the engine that roars softly.
Lu Han finally looks over to him, his hair plastered against his neck from the hot summer night. His focused gaze on the road and his one hand holding the steering wheel and the other tightening its grip on Lu Han’s hand. Sehun can feel the heated gaze and he looks over quickly before focusing on the road.
“What? Is there something on my face?” He asks with laughter intertwined in his voice.
Sehun just smiles at him and gives a simple no and he continues to look onward with Lu han as he squeezes Lu han’s hand right back.
I don’t know where we are going. I don’t know what we are doing but I’d follow you. I’d follow you to the ends of the earth and back.
