I have used waxplay with just one sub. I prefer to keep several taper candles of different colors handy. I use one candle at a time, letting the individual drips fall upon the sub. This allows the sub more time to savor each individual drop of hot rain, and using one taper candle at a time allows for the experience to be extended quite some time as the candles burn down
