I blame television, and the proliferation of home computer game systems such as XBox and PS2.

Americans, for the most part, no longer need to actually Work for a living. We sit on our butts, push buttons, and results appear before us. We have grown fat, lazy and complacent.

Of course, I'm sitting here at my desk job, pushing buttons to make data jump through digital hoops to get results, to have a paycheck digitaly appear in my checking account.
