Breathless, body pressed up against a bare tree trunk, Severus strained his ears listening for the crack of a fallen branch underfoot, the ghost of a breath floating through the air. Heart racing, he burst forward running toward the thicket, sliding to get underneath before-

“Petrificus totalus!”

Not quick enough. How humiliating to be caught flat on his back of all things.

A pair of mischievous eyes looked down on him.

“Really, Severus, were you even trying to get away?” Severus couldn't answer, although he wasn't sure he'd be able to regardless. Remus squatted down next to him and pushed a strand of hair out of his eyes

Oh, man, that's brilliant and so well written, but now I'm DYING to see how it works on Remus. (Or maybe he was planning to use it for someone else but it backfires onto Remus? I don't even care, I'd just love to see you continue this idea. :-D)

Heh. You're welcome! It was fun to write, and I noticed that you're a Snupin fan, so I felt I could throw that in. Because really, what gets Sirius' hackles raised faster than the idea of Snivellus all over Remus? (should NOT have put that image into my head. I'll be in my bunk....)
